Marva Goodson has been awarded a Social Networks and Health Fellowship from the Duke Network Analysis Center (DNAC). Each year, DNAC selects up to twelve fellows who participate in a week-long training course. Additionally, fellows are matched with a mentor to work on an ongoing research project that the fellow has proposed.
Marva proposed a research project that will “assess the ways in which female offenders’ personal social network characteristics predict access to supervision-related resource support [such as] transportation to supervision visits [and] financial support to pay court-related fees.” Marva’s project will highlight “the effects of participant, network member, and shared (participant and network member) substance use on network members’ resource provision.”
Congratulations, Marva!
